Bakery Brand Photography for L&L Bakery: Capturing Sweet Details and Fresh Bakes

Bringing Sweet Dreams to Life: A Delicious Brand Shoot with L&L Bakery 🍪

When your client bakes pure joy into every bite, photographing their creations is nothing short of magical. I recently had the absolute pleasure of working with L&L Bakery, a greater Bellingham-based bakery known for their made-from-scratch pastries, rich chocolate cakes, cozy lattes, and warm, welcoming vibe. From the very first bite of their gooey chocolate chunk cookie to the last swirl of frosting on a cupcake, L&L Bakery is all about handcrafted quality—and that’s exactly what we wanted to showcase in their bakery brand photography session.

Why Custom Bakery Photography Matters

For small food businesses like L&L Bakery, custom food photography helps bring the brand to life online. Whether it's for your website, social media, or menu boards, professional photos help you stand out, tell your story, and make your audience crave what you create. For this shoot, we planned a half day of bakery content photography that would reflect L&L’s cozy charm, colorful personality, and freshly baked magic.

The L&L Bakery Photography Session: Behind the Scenes

Every session with me starts with a strategy call where we plan every delicious detail—from props and surfaces to ingredients and styling. Here’s a peek at what we created together:

🍪 1. Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Classic and crave-worthy! We styled a batch of rich chocolate chunk cookies with melted chips and golden edges, served with cute little glasses of milk (because yes, that is adorable). Shot ideas included:

  • Cookies styled on a tray with chunks scattered around

  • A close-up pull-apart moment with melty chocolate

  • Cozy milk-and-cookie scenes that felt homey and nostalgic

  • A hand reaching in to grab one—because you can’t resist

🥜 2. Nutter Butter Sandwich Cookies

These buttery peanut-filled delights got a rustic setup featuring peanuts in the shell and a light brown textured background. We captured:

  • Stacks of sandwich cookies on trays

  • Scattered cookies in natural light

  • Extra peanut sprinklings around to tell the story

🍥 3. Cinnamon Rolls + Lattes

There’s nothing like the smell (and look!) of fresh cinnamon rolls. We included vintage plates, latte mugs, and soft natural lighting for a warm and welcoming vibe. Bonus points: frosting action shots! (And yes—we coordinated background colors to help the cinnamon rolls pop.)

P.S. We chatted about how the cinnamon rolls are baked—if they’re in one big pan or baked separately—so we could style them just right.

🧀 4. Quiche Slice + Cozy Café Vibes

For the quiche slice, we leaned into a brunch café aesthetic. We added fresh ingredients like jalapeños and shredded cheese, whole eggs for styling, and a soft blue background to make those savory colors sing.

🍫 5. Death by Chocolate Cake

This one was all about drama and decadence. We used a unique colored backdrop for contracts and dark cake stand to compliment the cake, styled slices on plates, and even got that oh-so-satisfying shot of the gooey cake filling.

🧁 6. Cupcakes with Fruit and Curd

Bright, playful, and full of flavor! These cupcakes were styled with lemons, berries, and varying cake sizes for interest and fun. We even used a little jar and butter knife for the curd—because details matter in bakery product photography.

🌈 7. Rainbow Macarons

Color, color, and more color! For these, we used a vibrant background to match the rainbow macarons and created height and texture with cake stands and trays. Top-down and stacked shots brought out their whimsical beauty.
